Acupuncture In San Diego: A Gentle Spring Reset

Spring always feels like an invitation… to open the windows, let the light in, and clear out our closet.. and our cabinets.. drawers.. and clean out all the nooks and crannies— this can relate to both your home and your body.
But what we see A LOT in clinic: this seasonal shift can really stir things up. Increased stress, more irritability, feeling a little stuck or overwhelmed.
In Chinese Medicine, that’s not random; it's standard, actually..
Spring is connected to the Liver meridian —the energy system that’s in charge of keeping everything moving smoothly (your Qi, your emotions, your energy). When things are flowing, we feel grounded, clear, and at ease. When they’re not… it can look like:
  • Mood swings or irritability
  • Neck and shoulder tension (TMJ, frequent headaches)
  • Digestive shifts (hello bloating)
  • That “I just feel off” feeling
This is exactly why this time of year is all about movement, release, and a gentle reset.

A Simple Way to Support Your Body at Home

Spring cleaning doesn’t have to be intense or all at once. Think of it more as a ritual—something that supports your nervous system, not overwhelms it.
Swapping in cleaner, more natural products is a beautiful place to start. It’s a small shift that makes a big difference, especially for hormones and overall inflammation.
A few easy favorites:
  • Koala Eco for kitchen + home (clean, plant-based, smells amazing)
  • Wool Dryer Balls + a few drops of essential oils (I love grounding blends like Tantra or Yoga from Saje Wellness)
  • Bon Ami for a simple, non-toxic bathroom clean
These little upgrades help reduce your daily toxin load — which is super important for a balanced hormones in women’s health, fertility, and stress.

Acupressure for Spring: Move the Energy

One of my favorite ways to support the Liver (and your mood) at home is with simple acupressure on these points:
Liver 3 (LV3) — “The Great Mover”
Where it is: On the top of your foot, in the space between your big toe and second toe, a little back from where the toes meet.
What it’s for:
  • Moves stuck energy
  • Eases irritability + emotional tension/stuckness
  • Helps with PMS, headaches, and that “on edge” feeling
How to use it: Apply firm, steady pressure and massage for 1–2 minutes on each foot. Breathe while you do it. Let your shoulders drop. Unclench your jaw.
Large Intestine 4 (LI4) — “Let It Go”
Where it is: Between your thumb and index finger.
What it’s for:
  • Stress + tension relief
  • Headaches
  • Supporting the body in letting go (physically + emotionally)
How to use it: Press and hold firmly for about a minute on each side. Great to do during the day when you feel tension building.

The Healing Nest Approach

At The Healing Nest, we’re always looking at the full picture — your body, your environment, your emotions, your rhythm..
Acupuncture is just one piece of that.
When we pair treatments with small, intentional shifts at home (like these), that’s where things really begin to soften:
  • Nervous system + hormone regulation
  • Better sleep + digestion
  • More emotional stability
  • Feeling like yourself again
Healing doesn’t have to be forceful. It can be gentle + supportive.

A Soft Reset

If you take anything from this, let it be this: You don’t have to overhaul everything this Spring.. Open a window. Ground into the earth. Swap one or two products. Take a breath.
Let this season be less about doing it all.. and more about creating space + movement.
If your body is asking for a little extra support, acupuncture is such a beautiful addition.
